Dot NAME Domain Names
Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD intended for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level domains remained operational.
Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no specific conditions on who can book a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
The .NAME top-level domain extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the precise spelling in your local language.
